City & Hackney Alcohol Service provides training and placements for volunteers.
COUNSELLING
Volunteers must be on a recognised diploma in counselling course. We provide training in alcohol counselling prior to placement.
GROUP WORK
Volunteers must be on a recognised diploma in therapeutic group work course. We provide training in alcohol awareness prior to placement. COMPLEMENTARY THERAPY
Volunteers must be on a recognised diploma in a complementary therapy course. We provide training in working with drinkers prior to placement. A small number of bursaries are available for people wanting to train in auricular acupuncture.
